Make Money Online - The Most Important Skill

I pormissed you to include "Make money online" topics in HYWD a little bit, didn't I? I won't write much on this. There are loads of resources online, so no need to repeat everyone else. Instead, I'll do my best to help you know the most important things. From then on I'll only suggest you where to learn more.

So what is the most important skill you need to have in order to make money online?

Do you have any idea what is it?

Is It Graphic Design?

Some sites have very professional design. They really can impress you when you see them. For example I have seen sites with Flash design which keep me watching them for several minutes. So great they are.

Are such sites selling more?

No, in fact they sell less. The great design, especially if Flash based, is heavy to load and not well indexed by the search engines. It's also distracting the user from the main purcpose of the site.

It is not graphic design.

Is It Programming?

Programming is a very important part of your website, unless you use a ready software. And even then one often needs help from a good programmer. If you have ever worked with a bad programmer, you know how a couple of bugs can ruin your sales or advertising campaign.

A good programmer can build very cool features which to make your site attractive. If you can program yourself, it's even better as you won't need to wait for someone.

I have seen many great sites which make good sales because they sell services based on good software. But I have seen also very successful sites who contain only one HTML page and a "buy now" link. Such sites don't use any programming, but still make thousands to their owners. I have also seen very successful blogs which just use Worpress without any modifications and make a lot of money.

Even when the programming is important part of your site, you can just outsource it.

Is it the most important skill to make money online? No.

It is not programming.

Is It Search Engine Optimization?

Some of the search engine optimization (SEO) experts out there charge $500 per hour. I am not joking, see for example Aaron Wall's charges. SEO is very important.

A well optimized site may appear on first page on Google for a competetive term. For exmaple if you can rank first in Google for "make money" you can expect about 200,000 visits per month. Only from Google, only for this key phrase.

Good SEO skill can make you rich. But only if you get the people who visit your site buy something or click an ad. Even one million visits won't bring you money if your site is one big flash or bunch of text which says nothing.

SEO is very important, but it is not the most important skill to make money online.

It is Copywriting.

Good copy sells and makes millions.

Poor copy can make your business broke.

The good copywriters can make 5 from each 100 visitors on a page to purchase an e-course which costs $4,950.

Bad copywriters can't sell more than a $9.95 e-book to one of one thousand visitors.

That's why the good copywriters charge $10,000 or more for writing one page sales copy.

Copywriting is the most important skill to make money online.
