Scammer's portrait: The "sweet" Jennifer by Tony CliftonHow many of you remember the "real" investment company called "Jennifer's Delivery Service"? How many have lost money in it? Anyone got a refund? For these who are "young" in the HYIP arena I will tell in short what was Jennifer's Invest and why it was such a good scam. JDS claimed to be a transportation company delivering services with trucks. The investors were buying "shares" of trucks and then these truck were used to provide the company service. The investor's loans were helping the company grow by buying more trucks. The program started accepting $30 minimum investment which ws "1/10 share". 1 full share was 300 and one truck - 100 shares. Later they stopped accepting 1/10 shares and asked everyone to upgrade to at least 1 full share. All members who were not able to upgrade were fully refunded. The returns were very realistic - somewhere around 1% weekly. Now, to the interesting part: This program was completely transparent - each week Jen was posting each Truck schedule, the results, the profit and how much everyone gets. They had a real phone number and address to visit them! A member from a public forum visited them and reported meeting a blond lady (Jennifer as she described herself) and other people in a company. He said there were no trucks because they had been on the road. Jen was nice, willing to communicate and survived the hard attacks she was exposed to at talkgold's forum. She was "sweet" and this helped her win people's hearts. Suddenly this summer Jen sent emails to all member that some trucks has been broken by accidents, other by other reason etc. bullshits. She promissed refunds but noone get such. All of this was so real, how the heck it could be recognized as scam?! The short answer is we never know and one should not believe real addresses etc. The long answer is: think! Why would a legal trucking company collect shares investments on the net when they can easy apply for a bank loan? Who would pay all the exchange fees (they were even accepting stormpay!)? Why there wasn't a single truck when a member visited them? None of these questions leads to sure conclusion, but all of them raise a red light. The lesson is: do not believe a program just because you want to believe. Always analyze, otherwise you will be scammed. Published at Sep, 06 '05 , Read 942 times.
