Scam tactics: Buying cheerleaders really works by Tony CliftonOne of the best ways to make people spend in your HYIP is having people who can confirm that it is legit or at least pays in time. These cheerlanders are widely used by the scam admins to help them boost the investment into their programs. Some of these clappers are easily recognized by the experienced investors, other - much harder. I will try to classify such peoplem into several categories which hopefully would help us recognize them and their effect: The "idiots". I really can't call differently these people. They just go here and there in the forums and cry how great is the next HYIP (usually an obvious ponzi), how they are paid everyday and how the program is going to last forever. The "idiots" don't use referal links, usually have very few posts and use improper language (otherwise they wouldn't be idiots, would they?). Usually they are either the program admins trying to present as an investor in very stupid way or just very unexperienced investors which have just discovered the HYIP world and feel very happy. These folks are very easy to recognize, they don't cost any money to the admin and their posts has zero in value. The referal hunters. This is the biggest and very well converting for the ponzi owner group of cheerlanders. Give people high referal bonus and they will start promoting our program. There is nothing ba din the referal system itself. The bad thing is that some people will try to earn from it regardless if the program is still paying or is obvious scam. These hunters are often supported when the program is going to run away. I guess such an example could be FastMarket (unless they really have only glitches in the software) - now some people are paid, other not. They could be paying only these who have brought referals - this could mean these investors still promote the program so let's keep them happy. The rating sites are expensive but very effective way for fake cheerlanding. Once having their program listed on a rating site the thiefs have two options: buying voters or buying the rating service. Some HYIP monitors will do everything for money - they can be bribed to show a program paying, exclusive, best rated etc., or to fake its date of registration. This however is very expensive, so most scammers prefer to buy voters - group of people how will go everyday to several rating sites and vote "paid" for the program. These can be friends and family or just poor people who do that for money. Sad, but true - be careful with the rating site and use only established ones like hyip-navigator, hyipinvestment, goldpoll and few others. The bought posters. This is very dangerous category of cheerleaders beca use their bad intends can be unravelled very hard. These are people with high rates (for supporting a hyip) who do long term posting on forums. They usually have several accounts in different forums and use each account to support 1-2 programs in long term. Such people can have hundreds of posts and even be respected members of the community. There is no secure way to find them - everyone could be paid poster. On the other hand you can't think someone is paid just because he likes program X or Y and posts about that. To avoid being scammed by them be careful and never listen to only one source of information - always look for at leats 2 independent sources. Published at Nov, 22 '05 , Read 722 times.
